We’re thrilled to announce an exciting new initiative between Luno and IntoTheBlock, an intelligence company that leverages machine learning and advanced statistics to extract cryptocurrency market signals.
We’ve joined forces to provide you, our traders, with even more dynamic, in-depth trading signals and data visualisation tools for bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin and Bitcoin Cash on the Luno Exchange (web only). There are now a host of new indicators there for you to use, giving you all the tools and information you need to understand the behaviour of crypto-assets, identify and get ahead of changing trends, and, ultimately, make the smartest trading decisions.
Meet the features
We’ve added an analytics panel under a new tab called “Insights”. This feature will allow you to see on-chain analytics from IntoTheBlock with an option to dive deeper on its website. These are the following indicators you’ll have access to.
1. Holders Making Money at Current Price
For any address with a balance of tokens, IntoTheBlock identifies the average cost at which those tokens were purchased and compares it to the current price. If Current Price > Average Cost, an address is considered “In the Money”. If Current Price < Average Cost, that address is “Out of the Money”.
2. Concentration by Large Holders
The total holdings of whales (addresses that own more than 1% of the circulating supply) and investors (addresses that own between 0.1% and 1% of the circulating supply).
3. Price Correlation with Bitcoin
30-day price correlation of an asset’s daily returns to bitcoin’s daily returns.
4. Holders’ Composition by Time Held
Classification of addresses according to their weighted average holding period of the token.
5. Transactions Greater than $100k
Number of transactions, each with a value of $100,000 or greater.
6. Transaction Demographics
Number of transactions that have occured during Western trading times (10AM to 10PM UTC) in comparison with those that have occured during Eastern trading times (10PM to 10AM UTC) over the last 14 days.
7. Total Exchanges Inflows
Total amount (in $ or tokens) entering exchange(s) deposit wallets.
8. Total Exchanges Outflows
Total amount (in $ or tokens) leaving exchange(s) withdrawal wallets.
IntoTheBlock aims to tackle one of the hardest problems in crypto: to provide investors with a view of a crypto asset that goes beyond price and volume data.
The company has built a robust infrastructure that is capable of hosting blockchain and other data sources, run machine learning models on top, and deliver indicators in a way that can be understood by the average investor. IntoTheBlock has partnered with the largest pools of crypto users, namely exchanges, data providers, wallets, and news sites to deliver its data to the largest number of people possible.
