There’s nothing more satisfying than the moment when something just clicks. When it all suddenly just makes sense. That ‘aha’ moment.

Have you ever tried to explain Bitcoin to someone? If you have, you’ll know what we mean when we say it’s no easy feat.

Bitcoin and the technology behind it are complicated in themselves. To add to the complexity, many people are skeptical about their purpose or worth. Money is money, right? Not quite.

Everyone’s got their own unique story of how they got into crypto. Of how they became a believer. The Pennydrop project is an initiative designed to showcase these stories, to reveal the human side of crypto.

It’s our goal to encourage the entire community to participate. Whether you’re new to this wonderful world or an OG, we want you to share your stories and help inspire others to join us on this journey to a better financial system.

Why are we doing this?

Pennydrop.tv is an initiative supported by Luno. Working in this space has given us the opportunity to meet a vast array of people, from investment bankers and economists through to local heroes striving to better their communities. They may all come from very different walks of life, but they do have one thing in common: cryptocurrency.

In order to uncover new applications and benefits, in order to ensure we realise the potential of cryptocurrency to better our world, we needed to understand the various forces driving crypto adopters. To stand back and look at the tapestry of motivations behind this incredibly passionate community.

These are real, human stories about how money is evolving and the impact it could have on all of us. We’re upgrading the world to a better financial system – one that’s inclusive, more efficient, and more cost effective. We’re starting to build a picture of what the future of money will look like and how we can help it get there.

When did the penny drop for you?

We’re asking crypto adopters when they had their “aha” moment. When they realised that cryptocurrencies were an important and innovative development with a wide range of benefits. We want to know what excites them about crypto and what challenges they think need to be overcome. We want to hear about their crypto journey and where they see the future headed.

We’ve been working on this project for over a year now. We’ve travelled the world to meet these people and document their amazing stories.
