What is a trading pair?

A trading pair shows two assets that can be exchanged for one another, such as BTC and ZAR. The first asset is the one being traded, and the second is what it is priced in.

Why it matters

Pairs let you move between assets directly, for example buying Bitcoin with rand or selling it back again. The pairs a platform offers shape how you can move between currencies.
