What is DLT?

Distributed ledger technology, or DLT, keeps a shared record of data across many computers rather than in one central place. Every participant can hold a copy, so there is no single master version to attack.

How it relates to blockchain

Blockchain is the best known form of DLT, but not the only one. The shared, synchronised nature of a distributed ledger is what makes records transparent and hard to tamper with.
