What is a DAO?
A decentralised autonomous organisation, or DAO, is a group governed by rules written in smart contracts, with decisions often made by member voting. It runs without a traditional central management structure.
How it works
Members usually hold tokens that give them a say in proposals, from how funds are spent to changes in the rules. DAOs aim for transparency, though they also face challenges around participation and coordination.
