Nigeria Zero Exchange Fee Promotion
Terms and Conditions
Last updated:
23 April 2026 – 22 June 2026
Luno Nigeria (“Luno”) has agreed to run a Zero Exchange Fee promotion (the “Promotion”) in Nigeria, limited to Maker and Taker fees on trades executed on the Luno Exchange, for Customers who buy or sell crypto. During the Promotion Period, the standard "Maker" and "Taker" fees will be reduced to 0% for all Qualifying Transactions, subject to the provisions in Section 3. Without limiting the applicability of Luno’s Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, and the general Rewards and Promotions Rules, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions by participating in the Promotion (the “Rules”). You agree to accept any decision made by Luno in terms of these Rules as final and binding.
Promotion Details
The Promotion offers a temporary waiver of exchange fees (as set out on the Luno fees and limits Nigeria page) for Customers who buy or sell crypto on the Luno Exchange (the “Qualifying Transactions”). During the Promotion Period, the standard "Maker" and "Taker" fees will be reduced to 0% for all Qualifying Transactions. For the avoidance of doubt, this Promotion applies only to Maker and Taker trading fees on the Luno Exchange and does not apply to Instant Buy/Sell transactions or any other fees.
Promotion Period
The Promotion will commence on 23 April 2026 and run until and including 22 June 2026 (the “Promotion Period”). Luno reserves the right to shorten or extend this period at its sole discretion.
Qualifying Transactions:
This Promotion applies exclusively to Maker and Taker fees (including stablecoin pair pricing) for trades executed on the Luno Exchange (as set out on the Luno fees and limits Nigeria page).
Notwithstanding 3.1., any Customer who qualifies for a fee rebate (a negative fee) based on their 30-day trading volume as per the standard Luno Nigeria Fee Schedule will continue to receive that rebate. This Promotion is intended to waive trading costs only and does not replace or reduce existing rebate incentives.
Exclusions:
This Promotion does not apply to:
deposit and withdrawal fees;
fees in respect of 'Instant Buy/Sell' transactions;
third-party payment provider fees for deposits and withdrawals;
dynamic network fees (gas fees) for sending cryptocurrency to external wallets;
send and receive fees; and
fees in respect of tokenised stocks, staking, bundles and prediction markets.
Eligibility
Participation in the Promotion is limited to:
Verified Luno Nigeria customers who have reached Identity Verification Level 3; and
Who are residents of Nigeria.
Abuse and Anti-Fraud
Luno strictly prohibits any form of market manipulation or abuse.
Customers are prohibited from engaging in "wash trading" (executing buy and sell orders for the same asset to create artificial volume).
Luno reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any Customer and/or reverse the fee waiver benefits if it identifies any patterns of abuse, self-trading, or breach of these Rules.
Subject to Change
Luno reserves the right to hold, void, cancel, suspend, adjust, or amend the Promotion and its Rules at any time. This includes the right to introduce a volume cap or reintroduce fees prior to the end of the Promotion Period should market conditions require.
Taxes
Customers are solely responsible for any taxes (including but not limited to Capital Gains Tax) that may arise from their trading activity during the Promotion Period. Luno does not provide tax advice.
Own Risk
Trading in cryptocurrency involves significant risk. To the extent permitted by law, Luno does not accept any responsibility for any damage, loss, or claims suffered by participants arising out of or in connection with trading activity during the Promotion.
Personal Information
Personal information will be processed in accordance with Luno’s Privacy Policy for the purpose of administering the Promotion and ensuring regulatory compliance within Nigeria.
Governing Law
These Rules shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and any disputes arising from the Promotion shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Nigerian courts.
