What is an all-time high?

All-Time High, or ATH, is the highest price an asset has ever reached across its trading history. People use it as a reference point when describing market cycles.

Why it matters

An asset can set a new all-time high during periods of strong demand, then trade well below that level for long stretches. The figure describes the past only and does not indicate future performance.
