What is a rollup?
A rollup is a Layer 2 scaling method that groups many transactions together and settles them on the main chain as a single batch. This spreads the cost of settlement across many transactions.
Why it matters
By doing most of the work off the main chain, rollups lower fees and increase how many transactions a network can handle, while still relying on the base chain for security.
