What is slippage?

Slippage is the difference between the price you expect for a trade and the price at which it actually completes. It happens because prices can move in the moment between placing and filling an order.

How to manage it

It is more common in fast-moving or low-liquidity markets and when using market orders. Many platforms let you set a slippage tolerance to avoid filling at a much worse price than expected.
