The Graph (GRT) is a decentralised protocol for indexing and querying blockchain data. Reading information directly from a blockchain is slow and complex, so applications use The Graph to organise it into open APIs called subgraphs that anyone can build and use. Launched in 2020, the network is run by independent participants: Indexers operate nodes and serve queries, Curators signal which subgraphs are valuable, and Delegators stake GRT to support Indexers. Developers pay query fees in GRT, which are shared with these participants. The Graph is widely used by DeFi apps, NFT marketplaces and analytics tools, and supports many blockchains including Ethereum and Arbitrum.
