What is a public key?
A public key is one half of a key pair and can be shared safely. Your crypto address is generated from it, which is how others send you funds.
How it relates to your private key
The public key is mathematically linked to your private key, but the private key cannot be worked out from it. This lets people verify your transactions without ever seeing your secret.
