Jupiter (JUP) is the governance token of Jupiter, one of the most widely used decentralised exchange aggregators on Solana. When someone swaps tokens, Jupiter searches many liquidity sources across Solana and routes the trade to find the best available price. The platform also offers limit orders, dollar cost averaging, perpetual futures and a stablecoin product. Launched in 2021 by a pseudonymous founder known as meow, Jupiter introduced the JUP token in January 2024. JUP holders vote on proposals through Jupiter's DAO, which decides on matters such as token distribution and new products.
