What is multi-signature?

A multi-signature, or multisig, wallet requires more than one key to authorise a transaction. A common setup might need two of three keys before funds can move.

Why it matters

This spreads control so that no single person, or single compromised key, can move funds alone. It is widely used by businesses, DAOs and individuals who want extra security.

Related terms

A structure that organises data so it can be verified efficiently.
